Description: 911 – Adams County Joint Emergency Telephone System Board

Senate Bill 1285 provides that if a Joint Emergency Telephone System Board includes a county which was a part of a 9-1-1 Governing Board established in 1988, no more than 3 members of the county board shall be appointed to serve on the joint board with the remaining members being either elected officials or representatives from the 9-1-1 public safety agencies within the coverage area of the joint board. This bill provides an exemption for Adams County regarding the structure of the local ETSB.

Senate Bill 2135 as amended by House Amendment 3e would prevent any existing PSAP from being closed and/or decommissioned and transferred to a dispatch center. It provides that all 911 and administrative calls requiring dispatch shall be dispatched in their entirety by a remaining PSAP to increase efficiency and ensure the quickest call processing for the public and first responders
